Blackout Protocol
A cover commission: one operative, one blackout, no witnesses.
Overview
A private cover commission for a neon-noir thriller: one operative crossing a dead city grid during a total blackout, lit only by failing signage. The brief asked for menace without a single weapon visible — the city itself had to be the threat.
Full-color painted finish over brush-ink foundations, with magenta neon as the single dominant hue and cyan rim-light carving the figure out of the dark. Six interior spot illustrations in the same palette completed the package.
What the project held
- Full-color wraparound cover, painted over brush inks
- Single-hue magenta neon system with cyan rim light
- Six matching interior spot illustrations
- Signed print edition from the original painting
